A truly beautiful variegated blue-black glaze over a flat round recycled clay fantasy anemone sculpture. The surface is a mix of glossy and matt, blues and blacks and very dark greens, get a bit of sunlight on it and it looks like a black opal. One of a kind glaze too here, as unfortunately I have not been able to replicate the result of this particular glaze layering mix. The tentacles and (?)suckers are caught mid- movement, and extra layers of the glazes have pooled thickly around the tentacle bases in a glass that gives an effect of extra depth, looking like water and a primordial ooze - one of my favorite pieces! It is 17cm diameter, 10cm high and weighs 1.7kg of recycled clay, so pretty hefty.
